JOIN US IN THE CROSSFIT GAMES OPEN: The CrossFit Open is where the CrossFit Games begins. All crossfitters around the globe can take part in the CrossFit Open. The top percent then progress to Quarterfinals. The top percent of Quarterfinals go to Semifinals. And, the top percent of Semifinals go to the CrossFit Games to compete for Fittest Man/Woman on Earth. And you can be part of it! Taking part in the Open is the closest you can come to competing without having to leave your own gym - you get the same kind of vibes, you push yourself harder, and you see where you land this year. For more on why you need to do the Open, check out this webpage and this podcast. How do I participate? First, you register at games.crossfit.com (it is $20). Then, each Thursday (beginning at the end of February), the workout announcement will be made (it's always a surprise) and starting Friday you will do that workout at CFAMM. A judge (one of your coaches or fellow athletes) will watch and count your reps and you get a score for each workout. You submit that score through the CrossFit Games app by 8pm the Monday following the announcement. Then, recover and get ready for the next week! There will be (at least) 3 Open workouts over 3 weeks. NEW GEAR! CFAMM will have special Open shirts to celebrate our participation. Keep an eye out for info on how to order soon!

ARE YOU USING WODIFY?

Do you have the Wodify app on your phone? Are you using it for anything other than to obsess

about "what is the WOD"? You should be using it! Why? Here are a few good reasons:

  • Record Your WOD Scores: Now, this is not JUST so you can see how you did on the Whiteboard (also on the Wodify app) - although you can do that too. This feature allows you to record your score at the end of the workout, make notes about the weight you used, your effort, how you felt, whether you scaled or did it RX. Then, should we do that workout again...you can see how far you have come! This is especially helpful on Benchmark workouts (like "Helen" or "Fran" or "Murph" or "DT") that we do periodically.

  • Record Lifting Totals: How will you know what 65% of your front squat (back squat, overhead squat, deadlift, snatch, power clean, etc.) is if you don't have it recorded somewhere? Wodify allows you to keep that information handy so that you can refer to it when we are working these movements.

CFAMM MEMBERS ONLY FACEBOOK PAGE

In an effort to get news to only CFAMM members, we have a "CFAMM Members Only" Facebook private group. If you are a current CFAMM member, and want to be added, click HERE and an Admin will approve it. ​ We will continue to post information on our public Facebook page (found HERE). The private group can be used to ask questions of coaches/admins or we can use it to pass on information to you about upcoming Box events, tshirt sales, special WODs, emergencies, etc.
