I Wish....Stop It!
I wish I was stronger. I wish I could lose 20 pounds. I wish I meal-prepped every week. I wish I could be in the gym at least 5 times a week.
Do you catch yourself saying "I Wish...." about something all the time?
Seriously? Why are we still wishing? Wishing is wanting something to happen without doing the work or wanting something that just isn't possible (ya know...like hoping that money fairy is gonna leave a few million laying around for you).
If you have ever stepped foot in a CrossFit box, you should know that you don't get better by wishing. You get better by doing. IF you have shown consistency in your time at the Box (coming on a regular basis, listening to the coaches, challenging yourself), I don't think there is any way you will NOT see progress. It wasn't about wishing it would happen - it was the work and the dedication to coming that helped you progress.
Time for a CFAMM Goal Challenge (#cfammgoal)
Set a Goal. Not a little goal. A Big Goal. Set at least one goal and give it a deadline (1 month, 3 months, 6 months). If you don't get at least a little scared setting a goal, you need to aim bigger.
Maybe your goal is CrossFit or fitness-related, such as increasing your 1-rep max or your 1-mile time by MORE than you think is possible. Maybe your goal is food-related, such as food tracking or macro counting and meal-planning/prepping.
Now, here is the toughest part of the challenge. Tell people your goals. Post it on social media. Tell your coaches. Tell your family. Make it real and hold yourself accountable.
We often don't reach a goal because we are not committed - we don't want it bad enough. You are going to have to WANT this goal - not just "wish" it would happen. Remember, we aren't wishing anymore. You are going to have to MAKE it happen.
How do you make it happen? I think I will just "fly by the seat of my pants" on this one, I bet I can hit my goal in no time. Ummmmm....no. You need a plan. You need to spend some time looking at a calendar, writing down how you will achieve said goal and making notes about how you will make that happen day-by-day and week-by-week. It is going to take some time to come up with that plan, get that plan into motion and execute that plan. You might need to talk with your coaches or a nutritionist or others. Real results will take real planning.
Awww man...this sucks and sounds like a lot of work. Guess what? That is why you have not hit that goal yet.
It is not wishing. It takes commitment and it takes a plan. You are gonna have to want it more than "sliding" back into the comfort zone at which you are currently. Why are you still there and why are you still wishing?
